Straight off the combine or the drier, it is essential to cool grain quickly with temperature differential fan control to avoid condensation, insect infestation and fungal problems. Temperature differential fan control is the fastest way to cool grain stored with low volume ventilation such as Pile-Dry Pedestals or FloorVent Pedestals. It helps to maintain high quality grain and ensure safe, long-term storage.

The temperature differential fan controller automatically switches fans on if the crop temperature is 5°C more than the air temperature. As the ambient air temperature decreases during the storage period it maintains a 5°C temperature difference between the grain and the air and progressively cools the grain.

The controller displays crop and ambient temperatures and includes sensors with extension cables to measure the air and crop temperatures and a frost setting override. It can be used in manual or automatic mode.

Controls any quantity of single or 3 phase fans, including Pile-Dry and FloorVent crop cooling fans and StoreVent building air extraction fans. An automatic fan starter is required for each fan being controlled

Portable Temperature Differential Controller

Controls automatically up to 5 single phase or 3 phase portable fans. It has built-in starters for each fan being controlled and can be repositioned when fans are moved between ducts and stores. It is supplied with all plugs and sockets to connect the fans to the controller and the controller to the power supply and just requires a suitable 32 Amp power supply, so extensive electrical installation work is avoided.

Temperature Differential Control with Crop Temperature Monitoring

Crop monitoring can be added to both types of the Temperature Differential Controller using up to twelve 2m or 3m long crop temperature sensors and suitable length extension cables. Sensors are selected using a Multi-Sensor Switch connected to the controller. This assists store management decisions by showing where to locate ventilation fans. The highest reading sensor should be selected to switch the fans on automatically.
