“It was so good…we bought another one” Martin Lishman Sprayers Receive Top Praise!

Whether a 120l self-propelled pedestrian Micro sprayer would suit for smaller areas that benefit from low compaction, or a 600l Tractor Mounted sprayer is required for large spaces, Martin Lishman Ltd have a sprayer to suit every need.

John Ledwidge, Head Groundsman at Leicester City Football Club, was very impressed with the MicroSpray and its “accurate control and spraying power.” This powerful, compact, pedestrian sprayer, designed specifically for golf courses, football pitches and sports field contractors, has proven to be a valuable tool for both groundsmen and facilities managers. The ringing endorsement from Mr Ledwidge: “It was so good…we bought another one!”

The Micro-Spray equipped with a 3.5 meter boom was exactly what Leicester City were looking for; a sprayer that was simple to use and had minimal negative impacts to the pitch. John Ledwidge shared his experience: “Everything we do at Leicester City needs to be a lightweight operation, the Micro-Spray was perfect for the job. We have been really happy with the performance of the Micro-Spray, easy to use, versatile and reliable. The service from Martin Lishman was top notch, the lads were very enthusiastic and more than happy to make adaptions to the machine. When people ask me about it, I say to have a look at one because it speaks for itself”. John made the decision to relocate the Micro-Spray to their training ground, but not before ordering another one to accommodate the King Power pitch!

Due to the high clay content in the soil structure, Adam Witchell, Head Groundsman at Forest Green Rovers FC was also looking for a sprayer that would keep a lot of weight off the pitch. A user of a Martin Lishman 250 Demount PRO sprayer for several years, Adam didn’t think twice before giving us a call. Adam told us “The service I receive from Martin Lishman is always first class! The information…and advice is always there”. Spraying the pitch at Forest Green Rovers home ground, New Lawn is pivotal to the work that Adam does to ensure all the organics and plant nutrients are put into the ground to keep the pitch in good shape.

“The pedestrian machine does a cracking spraying job, very well made, easily manoeuvrable and iswell waterproofed so cleaning the electric machine down is easy and safe. Also the fact that the machine is electric makes it environmentally friendly which along with sustainability in sports is what this club is all about”.

Adam added; “I definitely think the Martin Lishman sprayers are the best, I have tried others, and nothing has come close, the help and support from the team at Martin Lishman is second to none; Iam so happy to be dealing with them again and will be in the future.”

As Martin Lishman sprayers are designed andbuilt on-site, specialist or bespoke requests can often be catered for; this was the case when we were approached by a customer who required a sprayer for his vineyardin The Channel Islands. A Micro-Spray was supplied complete with a vertical rather than horizontal boom to enable a more efficient spray. Thecustomer was very happy with the result; “Let me say that I am delighted with your unit. It is very well made and does exactly what I expected. I am most impressed with both the quality of the build and the design. Thank you.”

If your need is for something with a larger capacity, then Tractor Mounted compact sprayers from Martin Lishman have been designed with the safety and comfort of the operator in mind. Tank sizes range from 200 to 600 litres, have an integral hygiene tank as standard and a circuit rinse clean water tank conveniently placed at low level for easy filling. The Midi-Spray Pro range, which encompasses the 400, 500 and 600 litre tank versions, has an induction hopper and in-cab electronic controls fitted as standard.

“In the design stages,” comments the company’s ManagingDirector, Dr Gavin Lishman, “we asked sprayer operators to test all aspects of the sprayer’s practicality in use. Hence, all filters are easily accessible and valves are at a convenient operating height. The standardised electronic controls on the larger models are a feature designed to ensure that hoses containing chemical are kept clear of the operator during use.”

The complete Midi-Spray range includes Trailed, Demountable and Tractor Mounted versions powered by PTO drive, engine or 12 volt. Specifications and options include a boom length choice of 4, 6 or 8 metres with easy-to-clean stainless steel lines, bout marker, retractable hose reel and hand lance.
