Martin Lishman has expanded its amenity sprayer range with the introduction of its first hydraulic folding spray boom, developed in response to feedback from customers looking for greater convenience, flexibility and protection.
Designed to fit any existing Martin Lishman Tractor Midi-Spray, the new boom brings hydraulic folding to the company’s established modular sprayer range. Operators can fold and unfold the boom from the comfort of the tractor cab, helping to make transport, access and operation quicker and easier.
The first version produced has a working width of 6 metres and has already been purchased by a renowned sports club in the south of England. However, the modular design allows the boom to be extended to widths of 8 or 10 metres, enabling customers to adapt their equipment as their requirements change.
A key feature of the new design is the incorporation of sprung break-back protection from the boom’s centre section. While many booms provide break-back protection only at the outer tips, the Martin Lishman design allows a larger section of each boom arm to move backwards if it encounters an obstacle. This provides additional protection against accidental damage when working close to trees, posts, fencing and other obstructions.
The hydraulic boom also includes the refinements customers have come to expect from Martin Lishman spraying equipment. Stainless steel spray lines and triple nozzle bodies are mounted within the boom’s robust truss-style structure, helping to protect the most vulnerable spray components.
Dedicated mounting and tie points are provided for the spray hoses and optional bout marker hoses, keeping them tidy, securely positioned and protected during use, folding and transport.
Boom height can be adjusted using a simple hand winch, while hydraulic folding and unfolding is controlled directly from the tractor cab.
Joel Capper, Managing Director for Martin Lishman said:
“The hydraulic folding boom is another example of how we develop products by listening closely to our customers. We wanted to introduce the convenience of hydraulic operation without moving away from the modular, adaptable design philosophy that runs throughout our sprayer range.
“The result is a robust and highly practical boom that can fit existing Tractor Midi-Sprays, grow from 6 metres to 8 or 10 metres, and provide increased protection for both the boom itself and its spray components.”
Martin Lishman is currently developing new website pages containing further information about the hydraulic folding boom.
