Crop store building ventilation to increase cooling and drying efficiency

Details

The StoreVent crop store building ventilation system extracts warm, moist air from buildings and replaces it with cool fresh air. This avoids condensation and enables buildings to remain closed for security and quality assurance purposes.

StoreVent maximises the efficiency of crop cooling and drying systems and improves the quality of the stored crop by increasing cooling speed, reducing energy consumption and minimising insect infestation.

StoreVent works equally well with all types of crop ventilation and drying systems, including underfloor ducts.

StoreVent Belt-Drive Extraction Fans

Substantial airflow at low pressures to extract a large amount of air very quickly, with low energy consumption and low sound levels
Built-in back draught shutter – opens and closes automatically when fan switches on or off to prevent harsh weather blowing into the building
Bird mesh fitted to both sides of the galvanised sheet steel fan housing
Automatic control – connection to an automatic fan control system linked to the operation of Pile-Dry Fans allows warm, moist air to be extracted from the building as it is extracted from the grain.
Manual control can be used for dust extraction when loading and unloading a store

StoreVent Fixed Blade Intake Louvres

StoreVent fixed blade louvres are specially made for Martin Lishman with extra rain resistance to suit agricultural conditions.

Class B category provides 95-98.9% protection against rain ingress

Installing StoreVent with Pile-Dry Crop Pedestals and Fans

Install intake louvres so that the prevailing wind can enter through them (usually in the gable end above the door). Install extraction fans at the opposite end or side of the building (not in the same wall as the louvres)
Take advantage of prevailing winds and the airflow generated by Pile-Dry Fans. Pile-Dry Fans located on Pile-Dry Pedestals should be pointed towards the extraction fan to assist the flow of air across the grain surface. This helps fresh cool air to enter through the louvres and warm wet air to be extracted by the fan.

Installing StoreVent with FloorVent Pedestals and Fans

Install intake louvres so that the prevailing wind can enter through them (usually in the gable end above the door). Consider additional locations in the walls of larger stores to ensure total air movement in the store.
Use Pile-Dry Fans located on the external FloorVent ducts to act as the warm air extraction system for both the store and the grain and assist the flow of fresh cool air to enter through the louvres.

Fans require an individual manual or automatic starter with overload protection

Additional Details

Galvanised steel fan housing with bird proof mesh on both sides, self-cleaning stainless steel impeller and built-in centrifugally operated back-draught shutter that closes automatically when the fan switches off.

Aluminium, Class B (95-98% rain protection), 38mm flanged frame, 30mm pitch fixed blade air intake louvre with bird proof mesh.

Louvres can be supplied powder-coated to order to match most cladding colours.
